John-Edward Kelly (www.johnedwardkelly.com) wurde in San Francisco geboren. Nach der Ausbildung als Klarinettist und Dirigent konzertiert er seit über 30 Jahren in aller Welt als Saxophon-Solist. In den letzten Jahren kehrt er immer häufiger zu seinen musikalischen Ursprüngen als Dirigent zurück. Zwischenzeitlich war er Professor für zeitgenössische Kammermusik an der Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf sowie an der Staatlich Norwegischen Musikakademie Oslo. 1999 wurde er in die Königliche Schwedische Akademie der Musik gewählt – eine der traditionsreichsten Musiker-Ehrungen überhaupt.
