Jan Philip Schulze hat als vielseitiger Solist, Liedbegleiter und Spezialist für zeitgenössische Musik auf den bedeutendsten internationalen Podien mit Partnern wie Juliane Banse, Annette Dasch, Dietrich Henschel, Jonas Kaufmann, Robert Dean Smith und Violeta Urmana konzertiert, mit Komponisten wie Hans Werner Henze, Wolfgang Rihm, Dieter Schnebel, Jörg Widmann eng zusammengearbeitet und mit den Münchner Philharmonikern und den Sinfonieorchestern des BR und WDR musiziert.
Er ist Professor für Liedgestaltung an der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover und arbeitet für die Musikverlage Henle und Breitkopf.
