Biographie:
Die deutsch-griechische Mezzosopranistin Stella Doufexis studierte an der Berliner Hochschule der Künste bei Ingrid Figur und arbeitet weiter regelmäßig mit Anna Reynolds. Liedinterpretationsklassen bei Aribert Reimann und Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau runden ihre Ausbildung ab.
Zahlreiche Gastengagements führten sie u.a. an das Théâtre de la Monnaie nach Brüssel, an die Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, die Bayerische Staatsoper München, die Scottish Opera (Oktavian), das Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona und zu den Salzburger Festspielen. Seit Herbst 2004 ist Stella Doufexis festes Ensemblemitglied der Komischen Oper Berlin.
Als renommierte Liedsängerin war Stella Doufexis bei den Festivals von Luzern und Berlin, der Schubertiade Hohenems, dem Klavier-Festival Ruhr, dem Aldeburgh Festival, dem Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival sowie dem Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival zu hören.
Stella Doufexis arbeitet mit allen wichtigen Rundfunkorchestern Deutschlands, den Berliner Philharmonikern, dem BBC Symphony Orchestra, dem Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, dem Ensemble Intercontemporain, dem Orchestre de Paris, dem London Symphony Orchestra und der Bachakademie Stuttgart. Zu den namhaften Dirigenten, mit denen die Sängerin bereits zusammengearbeitet hat, Bernard Haitink, Semyon Bychkov, Kent Nagano, Kurt Masur, Roger Norrington, Christopher Hogwood, Carl St. Clair, Helmuth Rilling, Ivor Bolton, Andrew Davis, Leonard Slatkin, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Christoph Eschenbach und Zubin Mehta.
