Biographie:
| Rolf Hinds Karriere entwickelte sich in über 25 Jahren in verschiedene Richtungen – heute ist er als Pianist, Komponist, CD-Künstler, Kammermusiker, Pädagoge, Netzwerker und Konzertveranstalter bestens etabliert. Seine Verpflichtungen als Musiker haben ihn, neben Konzerten in der Carnegie Hall, dem Sydney Opera House und Konzertreisen nach Korea, Taiwan und Kuba zu zahlreichen wichtigen europäischen Festivals für Neue Musik geführt.Er arbeitete mit vielen renommierten Dirigenten, u. a. Vladimir Ashkenazy, Oliver Knussen, Simon Rattle, David Robertson oder Andrew Davis und konzertierte sieben Mal bei den BBC Proms. Zu den Orchestern, mit denen er auftrat, zählen das Chamber Orchestra of Europe, die Münchner Philharmoniker, das Symphonieorchester des Dänischen Rundfunks, das Malmö Symphonieorchester und das Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Dazu kommen zahlreiche Verpflichtungen mit der London Sinfonietta, dem London Philharmonic Orchestra, dem Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, der BBC Symphony und allen anderen Orchestern der BBC.Rolf Hinds Kompositionen beinhalten Werke für Klavier Solo, ein Klaviertrio, zwei Streichquartette, ein Klavierquintett und das Klavierkonzert Maya-Sesha, sein erstes Orchesterwerk nach der Nominierung für den British Composer’s Award. Viele seiner Kompositionen sind inspiriert von seiner Faszination für die Kultur, Mythologie, Philosophie und Musik Indiens, wohin er oft reist. Gleichzeitig fordert er auch die technische Abenteuerlust der Mitwirkenden heraus, einschließlich seiner eigenen.Die Liste der Komponisten, die mit Rolf Hind gearbeitet oder für ihn geschrieben haben liest sich wie das ›Who is Who‹ zeitgenössischer Musik: Tan Dun, John Adams, Helmut Lachenmann, Unsuk Chin, Elliott Carter, George Benjamin oder James McMillan, um nur einige zu nennen.Rolf Hind war zwei Jahre lang Künstlerischer Leiter der Englischen Gesellschaft für Neue Musik (spnm) und hat u. a. Konzerte für das Roundhouse in London kuratiert. Seine jüngste Komposition ist ein Konzert für Akkordeon und Orchester, das er für das im Londoner Barbican Center beheimatete BBC Symphony Orchestra schrieb.Ein besonderes Interesse des Komponisten gilt dem Neuen Tanz. Es entstanden verschiedene Koproduktionen, beispielsweise mit dem führenden portugiesischen Choreographen Rui Horta oder eine internationale Tour des neuen Werkes Danza Preparata, das John Cages Sonatas and Interludes für präpariertes Klavier mit der Tänzerin Silvia Bertoncelli in der Hauptrolle präsentiert. |

I always seem to give up what I want when others want. . Not a good thing, no. Might be an honorable trait, but not “good”. The only time I would call this good is IF and only if those you always put before yourself practice the same as you.. . It is wonderful that you put others before yourself, but you must take into account hat you are somebody too and you are to get your share no matter what that share is at the time.
